13-Year-Old Blind Dog Who’s Looking for His Forever Home– It is so wonderful to have a senior dog as a pet. They are usually potty-trained, have outgrown destructive puppy behaviors like chewing everything in sight, and make great TV watching companions.
The TikTok account for @Youngatheartpets recently uploaded a video of a beautiful blind dog they have available for adoption named Elmer and he’s just the sweetest thing ever.
As a result of people wanting to adopt younger dogs or puppies instead of senior dogs, it’s so important to give them homes.
@youngatheartpets My name is Elmer. I’m a sweet 13-year-old maltese mix who was found as a stray, and no one ever came looking for me. So now I am here at Young at Heart to get all the love and care I need while I wait for my forever home. I'm a little guy at about 8 pounds. As the sweet and docile guy that I am, I tend to spend most of my time relaxing on my bed or couch, and enjoying affection from my human friends. I am blind, but get around well with a halo to ensure I don't bump into things, and I also get eye meds daily. I would do best in a quiet home, as a lot of noise or hustle & bustle can overwhelm me. I do well with other calm dogs, and would probably do just fine with cats. I love massages and being loved on, doing treat puzzles and finding treats in snuffle mats, and getting lots and lots of love! My nose and my ears work great, so I love playing games that involve both, and I loooove for you to tell me stories, sing to me, and just talk to me. I also LOVE rides in the doggy stroller around the neighborhood. I'm such a sweet guy, I hope there is someone out there that wants to snuggle and spoil me in my golden years. Is that you?
